Looking at the Balzout to mount my new Solix 15 and 12. Do the Balzout units allow for easy removal of the unit. I never trailer with my electronics mounted, so I remove them after ever time out put them in the truck then remount them next time I launch. Currently using rams and they are easy on and off but they never stay tight at 75mph.
You detatch the ball on the Ram? I use Balzout mounts. They are rock solid. You can take a joint loose but it is going to involve a loose nut and spring to be kept up with and reassembled. I take my units out of their gimbal instead. Loose the side knobs, spread the gimble arms and lift the unit off the gimbal.
That's what I do. Mount is solid. Stick a screwdriver thru the hole in the knob to snug it up. Then take the bird off by loosening the side knobs on the gimbal mount to remove it.

Im the opposite, my cover wont fit with the arm on so i detach it at the base mount. Just thread the spring/washer/nut back on the base so its always there.

After I purchased a balzout mount it dawned on me why they named it that , great product ����
I always detach mine at the mount base. Just unscrew and take off and then screw the nut back on halfway. Takes 30 seconds.

Kong mount is easier to take on and off. GeigerTec is even better.
