    250xs limiter

I am considering rasing the limiter on my 250xs. This motor is a 2003 with the 5850 limiter. I think moving it up to 6200 would help with prop choices. Boat is set up to fish not to run light for a big #.

So with that said I am looking for any and all input I can get. Cost? And how much would this motor benefit from it?

How are you going to raise the limiter?

xpress x19, 200ho G2, aluminum sawtooth cut prop, paper sack tackle storage, ugly stik pro team, color c-lector

I thought about sending it to someone like Simon. Also like bullet250 mentioned just swap ecu for a 2005 model with higher rev limiter. I would think the mapping in the 2005-6 model would be different due to it running on 87 where as this motor is recommended to run on 93.

We have a 2004 250XS with a 2005 250XS ecu, Not 100% sure might just be in my head but it seams to run a bit stronger with the 2005 ecu.

i think 2006 was the first year of 87 oct.

You would benifit alot from a raised rev limiter. The 5850 is brutal, 6400 opens up your prop selection.

It would be cheaper if you could just find a used ecu over sending yours to simmon. Also you can get money for your ECU, After we bought a 05 ecu I sent my our 2004 ecu to get flashed by DBR for my 300XS. I wanted 2 ecu because i wanted to test back to back DBR vs stock. So theres still value in your stock ecu.

My 2005 250XS rev limiter was 6400, or at least what it read on the computer read out, and yes you were supposed to run 91 octane at least

What was the result of your back to back testing?

How much was it to send it to simmon? All he is doing is rasing limiter correct?
