2010 Yamaha 250 SHO, did my tilt seals as they were both leaking bad. Just finishing up with completely filling the system up with fluid and the bonding wire on the lower unit that runs to the big bolt is getting super hot and smoking. Burning the black plastic covering right off. Note- my ground wire attached by the zero fitting was knocked off months ago. This issues started right at the end of filling the t/t system back up. My connections seem to be strong on the battery, I ran from the t/t motor to the connector under the cowling and that has power once trim system is engaged. Also, note that trim and tilt still do work.
