Anyone know where I can get a lower unit case for a 2006 hpdi motor? The top screw was messed up and the case is pot metal so it can’t be tapped. I guess I’ll have to replace the whole lower unit case.

Get a hold of Marine Parts Warehouse in Scottsville, KY. I've gotten a Yamaha remanned lower from them and it was a fraction of the cost and worked as it should.

Not sure how thick the material is, but do a Google search on Gardserts. They make thin wall inserts and they are tough as nails. I have been using them in our machine shop for hole repairs for about 10 years. Gard Specialists sell them.
Thanks for the info guys. Ended up tapping and using a larger screw. Worked perfect!
