Question question on prop break over ??

I have a 1990 374V Ranger with a 150hp Johnson Fastrike with a 24" Raker I had cup added by Mark Croxton and I also have vent plug holes, when I take off the motor revs to about 3500 then seems to break loose to about 4700rpms then seems to catch again then I start trimming up, should I add a smaller vent plug to stop this or leave as is top rpms are 5500rpms and about 57 to 58 mph no jackplate thanks

Yes smaller plugs vents only effect hole shot rpms not top end

Sounds just about perfect to me, just lift a little at nose over
What is the rev limit on your motor and gear ratio
    Thank You Leon Pugh

Try the smaller plugs. It should be 1.86 gears and 5500 rpm's.

You could also try an "allison foil" type hydrofoil, which will prevent your ventilation at "break over". It has many benefits and will not affect performance at higher speeds because it is out of the water completely.
