Thanks to all who have offered advice for my new to me Bullet. Looking at the way the boat is rigged I have not seen a second hole at the rear of the boat for steering hoses. Is this how Bullet built the 21XDC or ? Also, seems the boat would invest water every time it comes off plane with no boot on the hoses. Anybody know where to get some sort of rubber boot to seal the hoses to the hull?
That is an awful way to get the hoses out. See if gregg rothwell can send you pics of the way i did mine. I had the hoses cut and waterproof compression boots installed at a hydraulic shop

And yes, that should have at least had a boot on it
Not sure what year model it is but mercury used to have 2 hoses going to the motor- they used to put a goofy huge rubber boot around the cables and wire tie it down tight. With what you have there you need to see what else was rigged by that dealer and fix that too
