    Mercury 2004 EFI

Has any one , spray there mid-section ( drive shaft) section of there motor ,Or had it powder coated .
Which would be the best +and would last the longest . My thoughts on if a chip happen with the powder coating ,could you spray paint to dress it up?

    Has motor broken down .

I had my entire engine sprayed with enamel like from the factory. That was upper cowling, lower cowling midsection plates and lower unit. It turned out like a new one, but a lot of prep to get it right. That was over 2 years ago and still looking good.

I redid my rebuilt 200 EFI. Upper and lower cowling and lower unit. Used an epoxy spray and did a 2K clear coat. Then applied new factory graphics. Turned out great, looks new. Took LOTS of prep. Sanding, primer, skim coat filler, more primer and sand, sand, sand. I sanded the color coat and the clear coats too.
