    First timer

Any advice for a first timer on the Potomac? I'm looking for at insight on navigation/boat ramps in the Springfield area. Also area to target for Bass.

Run down to Lorton and dump in at Pohick. You can start in that creek if you want. Then you can run out to the main river and head south looking for the flotillas. :)

If you have not ever been on the river, recommend you pick up a GMCO Pro Series map of the Potomac. and study it before venturing out. I believe Dick's and Walmart sells them, or you can order from GMCO.com
