    '18 Nitro Z18 prop question

I have a '18 Nitro Z-18 and was wondering what a different pitch prop may do for me. Boat set up includes 2 power poles, 4 - 29 batteries with a 6" hydraulic jack plate. I have a Mercury 150 Pro XS with a 21p Tempest 3 blade on it. Prop to Pad is 3 1/2" with 15 PSI water pressure (analog gauge)WOT. I can run 56+MPH (GPS) with the tac @ 6000 RPM (analog gauge). If I trim it up any higher I lose water pressure severely, and any lower I lose speed. Hole shot is GREAT. Can I get any more speed at WOT without sacrificing too much hole shot?

I want to say that mlf boats are running a 22 pitch temp. The 4 batteries are not helping performance. I have a z 18 with poles and an 80 ultrex and could not imagine needing a 36v

Actually you hit in the head! It's a "demo" MLF boat. Love the boat, and obviously all the extra's that came with it. I assumed they put the 21P prop on it for hole shot with the loaded boat and 3 grown men.

I would send your prop to croxton and get it b and b and some pitch added. Probably gain 3-4 mph in perfect conditions

Is that a new 150 proxs 4 stroke or the old 4 stroke. Have you tried raising the plate but not trimming out more. If it's the new motor the lower gears may turn a 22 tempest.

Your tach is off that motor won't turn 6000 rpm's without getting an alarm and the motor shutting down to 2500 rpm's in Guardian mode. 56 is probably all it will ever go.
