Garmin GPSMAP 8612 + LVS12 Vs Lowrance HDS live 12 + LiveSight Transducer

    Good Morning,

I live in Brazil and I want to buy a new set of sonar for my boat, my doubt is between two products:
    Garmin GPSMAP 8612 + LVS12
Lowrance HDS live 12 + LiveSight Transducer.
When I look at my money the two settings cost the same amount.
Which one would have the most advantages for me?
I only fish in freshwater normally between 10 and 15 feet eventually I fish with 60 feet.
I currently have in my boat a Lowrance HDS Carbon 9 with ssd3d.

Save a little more and get the 8612 and LVS32 with the GLS10 box. Way better choice than the other two, IMHO.

The LVS32 has a wider cone angle.

The Ultra is compatible with the LVS12. Right part of the image states that it's only compatible with 8400/8600 GPSMAPS

Yes the Ultra is compatible with the LVS12 without the black box and the LVS32 with the GLS10. That is probably a little older graphic. Things change so fast.

It is 30 degrees but not pointed where this graphic shows it.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

I meant on the units that are compatible. On the website it now lists Ultra's as being compatible. I didn't even notice the incorrect direction the 12 is pointing in the graphic. LOL!

With one having a 30 degree beam and the other 135 degrees is it just as easy to cast into the fish with either one.

8612+LVS32 system. If it costs more.....Well....you are getting more.

II guess I didn't ask the right question, with the larger spread of the beam covering more water is it just as easy to figure out where to cast on the water as related to the fish on the screen.

Really it’s just the opposite by my thinking.
With the 30 deg angle it is going to be harder to keep fish/structure in view. With the 135 deg fish/structure will be easier to spot and you can tell where they are by using the onscreen grid.

Thanks for the reply that makes sense.

    Good afternoon
Deciding to buy the Panoptix LiveScope ™ System (LVS32 with GLS10), which screen you indicate, I will use only for livescope, the rest will continue to use Lowrance.
I would like something 12 "but not very expensive.

GPSMap 1222 don’t think you will find anything cheaper in 12”
I use a 10” and have absolutely no complaints
