    Sterling 250 Pro XS numbers

After 4 years in a 209 and 12 years in my 2100 I am moving to a Sterling. I know this has been discussed over and over as I have searched and read the threads, but many threads are older and a significant number of them contradict each other. What top end are ya'll getting currently and with what prop? Smooth water and medium tournament load I get 84 out of my 2100. Am I going to regret this move?

Mine will run 80-81 consistently with a stock 250 SHO, 28 Bravo 2 power poles tournament load. It seems to run better loaded compared to light. I also had a 209 and a 2100, the Sterling is a different boat, it does everything better, very easy to drive and handles rough water better, rides great, very comfortable. You won't be disappointed . It was a little faster with a T1 prop but didn't handle quite as well.

i've owned the following...(keep in mind i tourney fish, so speeds are FULLY LOADED 2 people and full of gas)....

2003 Outlaw (1900) , w/ 225 EFI.... 78mph...fun little boat but too small for big water ride...
    2004 2100 , dual power poles...250 Pro xs(2010)..................82 mph ....FAVORITE BOAT I EVER OWNED>....27 trophy...
2006 2100 , 250 Pro xs(2010 same motor)...... same as above just not as pretty color scheme....
    2011 Sterling , 300 XS(2016) dual BLade Power Poles, 36V Lithium Batteries, 84.6mph loaded ... 29 bravo xs...

i've got a couple of Sterling owner local friends...
    one has a 2010 with a 250 XS.... he runs a 26 Fury 4, 76-77...

***now... my $.02 on the Sterling....
Absolutey love the lay out of the boat... REALLY REALLY matched a Tournament Anglers needs with the STORAGE/ Livewells / Features...

***however.... from a simply fun to driver/ rough water ride/ DID IT ALL stand point... i miss my 2100...
not saying im disappointed in the ride of the Sterling, BUT IT IS NOT BETTER than the 2100...
also, its takes more Real estate to reach WOT with the Sterling, which sorta makes the WOT #'s DECIEVING...
also, the STERLING pulls like a tank/ranger going down the highway(meaning its way heavier)...

if they ever build a 2100 platform with the Sterlings configuration, that will be the OPTIMIUM boat...

That's exactly what I am afraid of.......I love my 04 2100. I was at the factory back in DEC to pick up a 2100 gas tank and the builder designer, after an hour of conversation had me convinced the Sterling was so much "better" there was no comparison.......but the numbers I've seen reported and what you say give me serious pause. I'm really interested in more opinions from experienced owners.

There are a ton of things i love about my Sterling over the 2100, but with a 250 I’ll assure you it don’t want none of a 2100...

If I could run a 300 I would fix this over night. I was going to get the 2100 ready to sell but I believe I'm gonna own two boats at least through summer to really figure out what I want to do.

Thanks Steve....Had planned on contacting you once this deal was executed completely because you never know what will happen. Yours is fantastic.....I just came across a lighter boat color and a darker motor color.
