    Z20 performance

I swapped out my 24 Fury 3 for a 25 Tempest Plus....this is what I have so far:

    2019 Nitro z20
    Mercury 250 Pro XS 4S
    2 8ft powerpoles
1/2 tank of fuel on both runs
    light chop on both runs

    24 Fury WOT was 70.3mph at 6000rpm
25 Tempest WOT was 72.2mph at 5900 rpm

feel like there’s more left with the tempest bc I didn’t hold it for long bc water conditions were starting to get worse. I also have some room to come up on the jackplate.

Great numbers with the tempest. How is bow lift between the two?

Tempest has a lot better bow lift.....probably the most noticeable thing between the two.

The tempest was way better on my Z20 than the Fury. Alot more lift and about 5 mph

I had the 25 fury on mine before I switched to the 25 Tempest. Like I said the Tempest ran much better.

Guys posting video on Nitro Facebook page running 77 with 23 Fury. I am wondering if Nitro is still making changes to the Z20 hull. They are always making changes ever since they introduced the Z20.

Seems to be pretty high slip numbers for a gen 2 lower unit.

The 2019 Z20 is a new hull and top cap..... So there are significant changes between the 2018 and 19 models. The later has an NVT hull, seats and console are further back, slightly narrower hull, smaller rear deck.... I have a 25P tempest that I am going to compare to the 23P Fury on it now... I can't imagine running 5 mph faster... I'm already reaching 75 by myself and 1/2 tank...

I have the 25 Tempest and best I’ve seen is 72.2.....and it’s a bear to hold on too also.....maybe I should have went with the 23 Fury?

Z20 has always been a NVT hull, and 2019 did see some hull changes on the Z20. Top and bottom.

Something seems wrong when Z21s are seeing the same speeds with 23p props. I have see 73+, normally 72 though.

Correct. Basically the same hull as the Z19 just stretched.
