    removing brick mortar

Brick layers left a skim of mortar in several places on the patio that I uncovered the other day when I swept all the leaves off. Any ideas on how to remove it?

What do you mean by skim? Is it a cement film or actual mortar smear? Either one, call
your bricklayer and have him come back and clean it.

I would scrape it now with wire brush before it really hardens, maybe a grinder or power washer... I would call the company.. I had chimney mortar grinding dust get blown on my lava rocks.. Picked out about 200 dust embedded lava rocks that were bad and bought 5 bags of lava rock to put a covering over old sunbaked Lava rocks.

If its on cement patio scrub it first with a stiff brush wet, (not wire brush) mortar usually doesnt stick real good to cement if cement is really smooth. If pavers, use 3/4 gallon muriatic acid to 5 gal of water and scrub with stiff brush rinse heavily!!!, again not wire brush. Help if we know what material patio is built with.

The guys you hired need to come back and clean it. An acid wash is required. That’s part of the job.
