2007 175 pro xs tapping

I have a 07 175 pro xs, se # 1B516856, had the tuner fall off. Dealer pulled off powerhead,
changed tuner, can and gaskets. Motor has about 900 hrs and now has a loud tapping
noise which goes away after take off. Compression around 127 on all cyls, with no miss
at all. Runs quiet on step, tried another lower unit and disconnected pump for about
5 seconds and still have noise. Any ideas?
