360 Imaging not staying on (Brand New)

I've spoken with Humminbird 3 times now and getting a different answer each time, has anyone had an issue with a new 360 not staying on? When you first put power to it, it hums and you can feel the puck start turning, then it makes a small beep and goes off. I've tried everything, including running wires directly to my battery. Now their telling me a need to run 12 gauge wire to it and also put the (1) amp inline fuse in place. The inline fuse is NOT 12 gauge wire so how is that supposed to help out? I think its the 360 unit, any ideas???

Someone on another forum recently had a similar issue and they were trying to use the old style Ethernet switch.

Are you going direct a unit with the Ethernet or going thru a switch. If you are going thru a switch try going straight to a unit and see what you get.

I have this very same problem with a brand new 360 and a brand new Solix 12 G2. This is the first I'm hearing about the ethernet switch?? What is the difference or how would I tell which switch I have?

If you have had the Ethernet switch more than 5 years it could be the old switch. The current / new swithch is the AS ETH 5PXG and is going to be what you have if it is bought recently.

The old switch was AS ETH 5PS an was replaced by the new ones in 2014

If the 360 workds directly connected but not thru the switch, the problem could be with the switch even if it is the new one.

Did you install an automatic shut-off switch so it would do that?

So when you stow your trolling motor the 360 disconnects on your HB unit? If that's true, that may be my issue. My motor was stowed when I was testing the connections and having issues.

I have regular issues with 360 disconnecting. Always when stowing. Happens intermittently but with regularity. It's very frustrating. HB hasn't been able to help so I live with it. All in all my set up is less than impressive. But when it's working well it's awesome.
