Garmin EchoMap 93SV Plus not coming on after getting wet

Took a couple of waves over the bow yesterday in some nasty stuff on Lake Harris. When I went fishing today I found that the bow mount graph (93sv) will not power on. When I got home I verified that there was power up front, and there is, and was able to verify power to the cradle via the power cable. I have not tested the cradle itself, but I suspect the unit is the culprit.

Garmin claims (the box has a statament) IPX7 as the water resistance rating, which is immersion, up to 1 m depth

Anyone experienced anything similar?

A little worried after reading the warranty though.

Warranty Exclusions include:
7.1.3 The warranty policy does not cover product failures due to: shipping damage, accident, abuse or misuse, improper storage, alteration or unauthorized repair, corrosion, products on which the serial number has been tampered with, power spikes, vandalism, water ingress, submersion, or other acts of God (force majeure) or weather phenomena such as lightning, flash floods, spills of food or liquids, maladjustment of customer controls, etc.

Just got off the phone with Garmin. They are sending a new power cable and cradle to rule out either of those possibilities. The lady said if they don't work, we will then replace the head unit. So far, so good

I have been waiting 2 weeks for a new cradle. Still hasn't been shipped.

I just seen this post, I posted about same problem. Looks like Garmin is taking care of it, heard nothing bad about their customer service!

Totally agree so far about the customer service. The lady I spoke with never even asked any questions about how it happened...just started working on a resolution. I can't argue with them wanting to rule out the cheaper parts first before they replace the head unit.

Hopefully there are no design flaws or designed-to-fails in their products, especially the hardware. Let’s see how often this issue happens. There are several reports here already.

I have been in the pouring rain in the last month no issues on the 93 so far.

I took a couple of hard hits. I would not be surprised if my unit failing was due to impact rather than being wet. I figured if it was a moisture/wetness deal...it would have dried out...especially since I did not try to power it on until the next day....where it had been setting for more than 24 hours, so potentially could have pretty much dried out.

I had this happen to my console unit after being in the rain all day. I moved my console unit to my bow cradle and it worked fine. I called Garmin and they shipped me a new cradle. Customer service is great but I hope this is not a recurring problem.

It has been a little over a week since my contact with customer service. She stated I would receive my cradle in 3-5 business days...today is the 7th business day, so I reached out to them and asked for an update on the expected delivery date. Next thing I know I get a shipping notification.

I also asked if they could provide any insight on the "known" cradle issue, and asked if it could be confirmed whether I was receiving an old cradle with known issues or the new design. I am sure I know the answer to that question, just wanted to see what they say. No response (other than shipping notification) so far.
