    Question OX66 Stumbles on take-off

My 2002 OX66 225 hp often stumbles when getting on plane. Lately it has done the same when running down the lake.
Where should I start? Any ideas appreciated.

Fuel system, lift pumps, vst tank and filters. 02 sensor cleaned, checked and or replaced. Disconnect shift switch. Injectors cleaned and checked. Have you checked your fuel lines and pickup in the tank? Do you have clean good fuel with no contaminants? Cj

Fuel system is good, O2 sensor cleaned and checked, good fuel non ethanol.
I will start with the low pressure fuel pumps when I am back at the lake next weekend.
    Thanks for your input.

Could be the shift switch, but I’d start with low pressure fuel pumps. Either are an easy fix.

Shift switch wouldn’t be an issue at speed. Fuel pumps would cause that.

What shift switch are you talking about? My 03 ox66 will not plane out when I have an extremely heavy load.
    Thanks

The switch tells the engine to drop 2 cylinders I believe when you are shifting into gear. When the switch goes bad it starts making contact in gear. Unplugging it just eliminates one more possible problem. It is located in the linkage on the right side (starboard)of the engine at the bottom by the linkage slide. Sounds like you need more prop venting, different prop, check throttle linkage for full opening or a tune up. Cj
