The CV does not have a down looking element and uses the side elements to create a downvu look while .......the GT has the down looking element.....

Debating buying a GT52HW to compare myself, 'cause I'd like to use my EM+93sv on my Kayak, so I need another TD anyway. I'll change the TD on the big boat to the GT52 and put the CV52 on my kayak. Hmmm
I've used both and cant tell a difference.....i also fish shallow water....
