    Vexus AVX 1980 Storage

Has anyone came up with an Idea for storing Plano tackle box storage in the front storage box on the 1980 ?

Most I have seen are putting the 3400, 3500, or 3700 boxes on their sides with labels to tell what is in them. Depending on arrangement, the rod lockers can have a large number of Planos and still hold some rods. All of the boxes hold a great many Plano boxes. It’s recommended to keep the heavier boxes in the back compartments to keep the boat from being too heavy to lift on to pad well. Maybe some will post photos, and if you search this forum you will find some photos of tackle storage in Vexus AVX boats.

This is what I have been using in my last few boats. Makes it easy to take trays out if needed. They are utility box carriers.

That will work! I have a lot of 3600 size boxes and this will hold about 8 of them it looks like. That’s all I will ever need of hard baits, and then I think I’ll get some clear Money Bags to hold plastics. Thanks for posting.

I put a big clear half sided rubbermaid container in the center and put my boxes in that and alongside it.

i just ordered an avx1980. While I wait for delivery I was hoping to start working on a tackle storage system similar to the Phoenix boats Tackle Storage System with sliding top tray. Can someone tell me what the following dimension are in the center storage locker.

    Overall length of storage floor
Overall width of storage floor (is it the same front and back)
Height at the front of the box
Height at the back of the box
Height and depth of each step shelf

There is a guy on one of the Vexus Facebook groups that 3D prints storage slots that are custom fit to the different rod lockers in the boat. I beleive they hold the Plano 3700 boxes.

I'm the guy on the FB group. I have various models available. Center or port lockers, 3700 or 3600 size Plano boxes.

I use these, I think they are great. The custom made one from @MG151 are slick, when I get some extra coin I'll probably drop it on them. But those carriers are a great choice.

All you need is one top water, one worm, a jig, and one crank bait. Should fit in a pretty small box.

I use a half sided clear rubbermaid container. Works perfectly!! Can still get rods over the top of them in the top tubes if I want to and keep some of my smaller boxed on the outside of it just to the side.

I'm still waiting on an answer from MG151, but in the mean time, this is what I have done. The soft plastics bags are in a Bass Pro tray carrier. Everything else is jus set in the compartment.
