    GLoomis NRX

Most sensitive rods I own, really enjoy feeling the slightest tick or thump that I know I wouldn’t feel with other rods. All 3 of these rods has lost the first guide below the top of the rod. Have any of you experienced the same problem?

Have a bunch of NRX’s both spinning and casting; not a problem with any of them.

Maybe your leader knot is taking them out.

Never an issue with any of them at all . It's about all that I own, probably 20 or 25 total. I use braid ,mono, and flouro .

why? It’s a rod, a tool, an expensive one but just a rod my gosh.

I have lost guides from top to bottom on my nrx rods. My fault the rods fault hell I dunno. I just run them to my buddy Mosley and have him put a new one on.

Likely the case I asked about braid as maybe a wind knot pulled out the guide common on the top of the rod. Nrx are awesome blanks but the build quality is highly questionable. A simple locking wrap would eliminate your problem however with their build quality I doubt they utilize a locking wrap for the guides

    It’s not braid.

If they are all failing at the same point, I would look at how you store them. Do you use rod tubes in the rod locker?

When I use braid if I use a leader, it's short, so I don't have to cast it thru the giuides.
