2019 520c, air in gas tank

Anyone have this problem. Everytime i open my gas cap, tons of air comes out?????????? What is the issue???? I though these tanks had a vent for air.

All of my Rangers in recent years [since 2012] have done the same.

Mine will do it as well. Dealer warned me about it when I picked up the boat.

EPA regs, believe 5psi is the setting for the venting valve.

Actually causes problems on smaller carbed motors dumping fuel in the water.

All marine gas tanks changed in 2013 if I remember correctly, having a little air come out is 100 times better than gas spewing out all over you!!!

Tell me about it! I bought a new plastic gas tank for my Dad's old 1989 15 hp Johnson outboard. I just leave the gas cap a tad bit loose...otherwise it swells up bad when sitting in the sun.

My triton does it too. When I have it parked in my garage I open it then close it till right before it clicks shut then put a piece of tape on it to hold it down. That’s kept it from pressuring up when it’s just sittin.
