    Champ Carpet 2003

    Does anyone know what carpet weight was used in a Tennessee mfg. boat? I also understand that Syntec was the original brand of carpet, just not sure about the ounce weight per square yard.

    i'm just paranoid that if I use the 20 oz. the lids will be hell to open and close.

    The lids will be fine with 20oz.

    You bet. I have 24 oz in my '01. It was tight the first few months. But is perfect now.
    Also, the manufacturer (if you stray from Syntec) can vary greatly from one manufacturers 20oz to another's 20oz. I put some really plush 20oz in my last boat (Skeeter) and it was nicer than the 24oz I had installed in the Champ. Good luck!!
