93 Fast Strike 150 fuel milage question

I'm sure this has been covered before but I can't find an answer, But I have a 1993 J150GLETG fast strike 150 that runs like a top. Starts easy and runs great.
What kind of mileage should I expect? I run it at 5000 rpm's. Twice this week I fished and estimated about 12 to 13 miles of running each trip and used at least 12 gallons of fuel per trip.
    Does this seem normal?

RPM chews up fuel. Back her down to 4,000-4,500 and you will get a bit better mileage. Also how hard the engine is working will effect fuel consumption. For example, if it's trimmed down and turning 4500 it will use more than if you are trimmed up at the same rpm. Dragging less hull in the water so you can use less throttle to turn a given rpm will help mpg.

Somewhere around 4500 the high speed pull over, in the carbs, start dumping fuel. Get a prop that will lift your boat real good at 4200, and tops out at 5400. I have a hydraulic jack plate, which helps, on my 1991 Cajun Pro Sport and I run a 1991 150 Intruder. I think at times I can get a little over 2 miles per gallon.

not the same, but I have a GT150 (1985). 3 carbs, and it. loves. fuel. It is epically thirsty.

The Fast Strike motors are known for the whirlpool they create in your fuel tank!

Very thirsty but I love this old dirty motor! I’m guessing I get around 1.5-2 mpg.
