I just did a 2 year renewal on my 2008 Tundra a few months ago, it was about $150 I think for 2 years, I also had to show a paid "personal property" tax receipt which was $500 per year for 2 the truck and a 2013 Elantra. I paid another $100 or so to transfer the plates to my 2018 Ford last month, and after paying another $400 or so this comping December, my "personal property" taxes will jump next year to a huge amount, ... around $1500 - $2000 per year, of course the amount will go down each year as the vehicle ages and value drops.

In Indiana, vehicle excise tax is based on value and age of the vehicle. Lowest cost is $12 and max is $532 for passenger vehicles, my truck is $355 some counties have additional tax but mine doesn't. The max for recreational vehicle is $2375.00 for anything cost $200K and above and less then 1 yr old.

Here in Delaware it used to be 20 a year for all personal vehicles but I think it has gone up to 40. I buy a new truck every 3 years and they register it at time of purchase for 5 years so I have not had to have a vehicle inspected or renew a registration in over 30 years.

Just renewed my 2016 Ram 3500 here in Arizona for $632. They added an extra
Safe Highways $32.00. What that pays for I don't know. Some say it is to help pay for the Highway Patrol, not sure.

    Ohio pricing is as follows:

    • Moped registrations are $24.50 and Motorcycles are $28.50. Registration renewals are $49.50 for Motor Homes.
    • Light Non-Commercial Vehicles (up to ¾ of a ton) cost $49.50 to renew and Heavy Non-Commercial Vehicles (up to a 1 ton capacity) are $84.50 to renew. Commercial Trailers are $39.50 to renew.
    • Commercial and Farm Trucks, Commercial Buses and Non-Commercial Trailers are all renewed at a rate that is based upon their weight.
    • If your registration has been expired for 30 days or more, there is an additional $10 fee.

2015 4Runner registration about $25 in my county. (Property tax is payable at time of registration and added to the registration bill.)

In Georgia we pay 6&3/4 percent of purchase price as an advalorem when you buy the vehicle BUT you pay NO sales tax on the deal
and then you pay between $20-$50 a year for tag . In the past we paid sales tax plus a $$$$$$ of money every year for tag . It would be common for a high end pickup tag/registration to around $750.00 a year .
