    95 Mercury 115 tach not working

    Og141941 ser#
    voltage at battery not running 12.5 voltage running 14.5
    voltage grey wire connected 1.5 volts disconnected 6.0 volts
    tried friends used tach still doesn’t work.
    any ideas would be appreciated

    Not sure about the 115 motors but the V6 tachometer is also a gray wire that comes from one of the two voltage regulators .

    Got 6 volts on that wire not sure that right

    make sure gray wire is not broken 12v at tach and grnd , there is a test for tach circuit in serv manuals
