    Ttula 100 making noise

First time using my Tatula 100a today. After about an hour I started noticing a meshing sound or almost like there were tiny particles of sand in the spool toward the end of the retrieve. I'm using braid and I was wondering if it could be the line going under the bar in front of the spool. It would have more pressure on it the more the spool filled. Is this something that happens with this reel? I popped the side plate and put a drop of oil on the bearing.Going to try it out in the driveway now.

OK,taking a closer look at things the light bulb just lit up. I'm guessing the line goes OVER that bar not under.

Line definitely goes over the bar. Hopefully that solves your issue!

Yes it did thanks.I googled a few images just to confirm. I guess it was to be expected from a Shimano guy using Daiwa's t-wing for the first time. I do like the reel and will most likely get another.

I won’t laugh...I just did it myself! I have 4 Daiwas with the T-Wing and I had just spooled some CXX and I just didn’t like how it felt. I always take my rods out after putting line on and walk about 100 yards off with the hook on my mailbox so I know the line is on tight and is ready to go. Well it just plain felt weird and I looked down and had done it! It was really hard to tie the line back on and hope no one came home and ran into my line!

I did catch an 8 pounder later that day on that rod so the new reel got broken in right! If we can’t laugh at ourselves...
