It's common to lose speed going from fortrex to ultrex. 19 lbs on the very end of the bow is equivalent to 100 or more pounds in the stern

I love going fast, but I'd give up 5mph if that's what it meant to have an Ultrex. #worthit

I haven't seen a difference, if so it's not much. Have a 920 and hit 75 with full tourney load and gas tanks couple days ago. Like cde21 said, you lose a couple mph so be it. Definately worth it having that ultrex on the front.

I feel like I might have lost just a little bit off my top end. It’s either that or hours on the engine is just taking its tole but I’ve been told they don’t lose speed (over 700 hours). I used to run full tourney load 75mph. Now I’m in the 73mph range and I feel like I have less tackle now than before. I switched to the ultrex last spring.

I wonder why they're so much heavier. They're mostly plastic aren't they?

I had too have mine worked on from straight off the lot. Removed it myself and was shocked at how heavy it is. That one little tiny bolt holds the entire thing. Makes me wonder how long it will last. Be sure to download the app to your phone so you can keep it updated. An updated version of the gps for the Ipilot came out a few weeks ago.
