    2017 new nitro z18 175 pro xs

I just bought a new old stock 2017 nitro z18 and it came with a 24 fury with all open vents and a 10" slide master. Also added 80 ultrex and to 8' poles. Have it set 3.5 prop to pad. This is my 1st nitro coming from bass cat and wanted to know if this set up is a good starting point or should I switch props (I have a 24 tempest). Done with the 1 hr break in and taking it out this weekend to see what she can do. Thinking 64-65 mph. Any help would be much appreciated. Thx

Don't think that rig will get the rpm with a 24 Fury. 24 tempest may work as it should pull about 200 more RPM

Did not like the 24 3 blade fury mine came with. 24 tempest is better. The 24 4 blade fury is what I am running now and it is excellent. Can turn 5750 even in the middle of summer and get a very loaded rig to 64 quickly

Two things jump out to me when reading this post.

1st a 10" jackplate on a 18'8" boat seems long when 8" or even 6" is common for a boat that length. I will be honest and say that I don't know much about Nitro boats so this may be normal and I just did not know it.

2nd taking it out to "see what she will do" after only a 1 hour break in period. It just seems like the internals of the motor should get to know each other a little better than 1 hour before testing for max performance.

I know the only motor I ever owned new came with advertised 0 breakin period but I put at least 6-7 hours on it with varied the rpm before I ever let it eat wide open. Even then it was only for a short burst. Granted it was not a Pro XS and I am not familiar with a Pro XS break in but 1 hour seems short. One thing to consider is big brother is always recording. The computer on the boat motor will have stored information. It will know how many rpms and how long you turned rpms in a particular range.
