    Pro XS 4 stroke

Well it looks like I'm gonna be putting a deposit down on a new 4 stroke pro xs since I blew the power head on my 2009 pro xs last week. Just wondering what type of prop folks are running with this motor and a 721. I asked the owner of the dealer and he told me that the 26 pitch fury that I had on the old motor would work good on the 4 stroke but everything I've read is that people are having to drop down to a 23 or 24 pitch when they swap to the 4 stroke. By the way this will be going on a 2009 721.

My 2019 came with a Fury 24. Loaded with live wells full, it is the right prop

The better question is where are you getting your hands on a new 4 stroke right now. Did they give you an ETA?

The owner told me he has 2 coming in this month. One already has a deposit put down on it and the other one is not spoken for yet. He told me that he ordered 20 of them all together but is only getting 2 for right now.

If I do run the 26 fury that I currently have and find out that it doesn't perform well is there any reason that I couldn't take it and have it repitched to a 24 to save me from having to buy a whole new prop?

If you load your boat heavy it is probably going to suffer on hole shot. I don’t know that for sure because I’ve only ran the 24 fury but loaded, full of gas and 2 people I can still turn 6190. Loaded light with no trolling motor and 2 people it will turn a little over 6300.

26P Fury is too large but can work in a pinch. 24 is what most Phoenix's come with on the 4 stroke but a 25P worked best for me overall.

Flaphoenix, I’m running a 2019 721 with a 250 4s on an atlas hydraulic 10” plate with a 24 fury. The ptp seems to vary depending on the load. I run it from 3.25 to 3.5 on the plate. I’m at about a bump from being at 1/4 trim. The one thing I do that I’ve never seen nobody mention is I set my plate at 3 and take off. Once on plane I start my trim as I’m running. Once it’s trimmed it will start to chime at about 70 then I start bumping my plate up and until it just stiffens out. At that point you can take your hands off the wheel. The torque the 4s produces takes a little getting use too. The midrange is where I notice it but I would put my 2s up against any of them at take off. It turned up so much quicker and really got up on plane.
