Loomis IMX Pro - JWR Spinning Review/Recommendations

I am looking at getting a couple of the G Loomis IMX-pro JWR spinning rods and can't decide between the Medium and Med-Hvy. I am looking at the 7'1" model. Does anyone have experience with these and can share some info?

I am mostly looking to use this rod for the following:
    - 3-4" swimbaits with 1/8-1/4oz jig heads
    - Ned Rigs
    - Wacky Rig Senkos
    - Neko Rigs (5-6")
    - Shakey Heads - 1/8-3/16 oz.

Personal opinion here, the med will serve all your needs. I use an nrx 852 in these situations and it’s extremely practical for a multi use rod. The med hvy will work but just a little too much rod for fine wire hooks.

Agree with above. Go with the Medium (852)

I have a NRX 872s JWR and love it for all the bottom contact lures you mentioned, not sure how it compares to the IMX but the extra length gives you a little more hook set leverage.

Curious Which specific style are you referring to that would be the best all-around? I looked up the NRX 852, but there are numerous styles. Mostly swim baits and senko style fishing here.....

I use the nrx jig and worm for what I was referring to. It’s an extra fast tip with good back bone but enough give to fish any light to medium hook.

I have the IMX Pro 852 JWR spinning and it is great for the applications you listed.

I was a bin fan of the 852 but have changed over the last few years to the 872 more and more. The 852 is not as fast as the 872. The 872 can do everything the 852 can do and more. The 872 is better in open water, if skipping under docks I would go with the 852.

You will not be sorry with either.
