    02 ranger 195 setup

    my son has a 02 195 with a yammie hpdi 200.he recently added a 6 inch plate and 2 12 ft talons.he currently has 24 trophy plus prop.before the add ons of the plate and talons,the boat would run 65 at 5500.so..now the boat is running 61 at 5600.we have the plate adjusted to 3/3-16 to pad.any suggestions on where to go now.is this still the right prop?..also,how many rpms are safe to spin with this yamaha?

    Needs to be in the 5800-5900 range. Something seems off he should have been turning that 24p well over 5500 to begin with.

    How much did he raise the prop to pad after adding the talons? With the extra slip it looks like he's too high prop to pad now. I'd try a 24 three blade and see what it does but you may have to go down in pitch with the added weight. That's a pretty heavy boat for that 200 HDPI to push if it's a 2.6 motor.
