Stratos guys with G2 Evinrudes...step in please

I just took the Yamaha off my 08 201XL and re powered to a G2 250 HO....I love this motor. What I am curious of is what Prop and Pitch you are running and if you have a hydrulic jack plate where it likes it.

    Thanks in advance....

G2 150 HO on a 2004 285 ProXL. 6” manual jackplate at 3 3/8“ prop to pad. Running a 25 Tempest+. It is a beast of a motor. Thinking maybe a 4 blade would be a good option, still tinkering with adjustments.

I’m running a 250 HO G2 on my Falcon 205 with an atlas hydro plate. I’ve run a 25 & 26 raker ho and the 26 seems to perform and handle better. I’d try a 26 on your boat as I think it would be best.

See if you can find someone that has a Turbo TXP in 25 or 26 pitch and run it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Fast prop you can run high on the plate with tons of lift.

What gear ratio is on the G2? I have the M2 (1.85:1?) case on my 250 e-tec HO and I run 27-28p props. I am running a Razor3 28p at 2.5" under the pad and a Bravo1 28p worked by Mark. The Bravo1 I use in rough water and vary the height for the conditions. It will run from 2" - 4.5" under the pad.

On the 250 and 250 HO the gear ratio is 1.85:1. On the 150HO it is 2.17:1.

Buccaneer, What speed difference did you achieve with the new motor?

Aussie Joe - The answer is none. I went from a 2004 Johnson 150 to the G2 HO. I am still playing with props and setup. The torque and power difference however is noticeable.

Yeah right so same top end? But acceleration, fuel efficiency etc are way better?

Yes, acceleration out of the hole, mid-range punch is fun,and fuel and oil burn is amazingly reduced from the 6 carb 150 Johnson.
