Slow 225

I posted before on this issue but I have a 19’ zx225 that I cannot get any speed out of. 6000 rpms and 64 is all it has. That is with 3 people and tackle but I expected more. It’s a brand new t2 25 prop, could it be a bad prop?

All indications are bad prop due to the high slip. Prop slip will change as your weight changes, but you typically see a drop in RPM to accompany the speed drop. 6K RPM would be the upper limits for a 25p VMAX prop on that rig with 2 people let alone 3. I don't believe your speed is very far off, but I would say 67ish with 3 is respectable.

I can basically do with rpms whatever I want with trim. 2 people light load is 69 at 6000 where as 3 people heavy load I can still run 6000 rpm but only at 64-65

If you can turn a 225 SHO to 6000, you are doing well. 69 with 2 folks is pretty good. A Skeeter isn't a Bullet.

You might need to lower the jackplate with the heavier load. I would drop it 1/2" and try it again. Your rpms should go way down.

I could try that. Psi is sitting around 12-14 with the heavy load at 6000. I believe I’m at 9 dots showing or about 2” ptp. I don’t feel like I’m getting any bow lift though. Almost as though it’s plowing even at 6000 rpm

Drop engine to 7 dots showing and run it, bet you'll get your bow lift back.

Yes, 7 dots showing on the manual plate should put you at 2 3/4 below the pad and should be real close to optimal set up. You may need to go to 6 dots if your real heavy in the nose with tackle.
