    Winch Upgrade

Just finished putting a Fulton F2 on my 819 trailer. Fairly easy, bolt pattern matches the old Fulton perfectly. I did try both ways over/under the drum for the strap. Under works better and allows the hook to not dig into the roller as much. But to winch on the handle has to go counter clockwise. We'll see how I like that with time.

What are the big differences between that one and the stock winch?

F2 is a two-speed, low/high range gears. For that last foot of winching I was getting scared with the old winch. Scared of dropping a nut or screwing up my back winching in a precarious position.

Which Fulton F2 winch did you go with? I noticed on Fulton’s website that there are a few different ones. Part #?

    It's the "two-speed, 3200lb" one, I think.

There is evidentially a Fulton F2 2000 lbs. and a 3200 lbs. version. Which one are most of you guys upgrading too?

    2000lb is a one-speed winch, 3200 is two-speed. I wanted the low range gearing.

Is there a noticeable difference in how easy it is to turn the handle jumping from the stock winch to the 2,000? I normally drive my boat all the way to the bow roller but on ramps I am not familiar with I might have to winch it up a little. The stock winch can be a little rough on the shoulder for those last few turns. Also, any chance the 3,200 pound version could break the the bow eye loose since its such a powerful winch?
