Lightbulb When do you put your game cameras out?

Leave and check them all year? Typically I put them out sometime in late July or August then leave until around March as I mostly use for Bowhunting. Curious how everyone else uses them. Maybe nice to leave out all year for security purposes..

Personal opinion here. I leave two cams out all year. My checking gets extremely sporadic. I don’t leave them all out because, sadly, thieves are everywhere and for some damn reason I lose cameras when morrels show up. Don’t usually have an issue past spring.

Late September through November. After that, they're stolen.

Put a camera on the camera
I normally shut most of mine down at the end of February when I think I know what all survived, then I'll start them back up in July.

Sept usually after the Bucks are hard horned as they change/move. Sometimes all year and sometimes I hide them as surveillance cams and leave them out... I travel for hunting so logistics makes a diff. I use to keep cams out all year at home but got bored with that - So many pics... 2000pics x 12cams X 30 days = life drain looking at pics! Get tired of looking at bucks. Now come OCT. diff story!!!

I'm headed to my hunting ground now and will pick up my last 6 cams that have been out since Nov. Will more than likely leave them.

If images are sent to your phone leave them up all year. If you are trying to see buck movement then wait until first or second week of September. The bucks will change patterns from end of summer to fall.

After turkey season. Turkey hunters tend to ignore property lines.
