    V6 vs V8 performance

ok I’ve been trying to get a V8 200 since last summer for my repower. I have a 200 Honda on my 197 magnum now and I’ve got to get a merc (tired of the extra 200lbs on the transom mostly).

Anyway i believe i can get a V6 200 pretty quick now and was curious if you guys had any real data on the two. I know it would be faster than the Honda and a 200lbs lighter but i don’t want to regret not just waiting on a pro xs.

Cam anyone help me out on why i should wait? I know the pro xs has a higher rev limiter but i believe they are the same lower unit gears

If the ProxS is the V8 it will weigh more, if it’s about power why not get the V6 225?

Only 30 lbs difference... when you consider the ProXS is 25% more displacement and at least 200 more RPM's, seems like an easy decision (for me, anyway).

I pulled a 300R cover off and they are heavy.
Some lbs. Can be shaved off off them things.
