    Shelbyville or other lake

Got a new boat and my private home lake has a 40 MPH speed limit. Looking to find a lake in southern Illinois that I can do some fishing but also test out new boat and dial in prop. Looking to do this in the next few weeks. Boat is a 2080 Vexus. Thanks

I think Shelbyville would be a good choice. I'ts big enough, probably not crowded yet, and the bass should be just about fired up there.

There were two tournaments last weekend on Shelbyville and not a single keeper was weighed. One was Saturday and one was Sunday. I know this time of a year a week can make a world of difference but I'd choose Clinton right now.

Don't forget the Braidwood and LaSalle cooling lakes are close to you, and are open now.

Yeah speed limit is issue. Otherwise I would just stay on my lake.

I don't know about largemouth but there is a healthy population of white bass.

That is a sad report. Don't know how many boats went out - but that is still a sad report. With the Mississippi so high and muddy, I have thought about Shelbyville ... we have had some great days there but have not been there in 10 years. This report puts us back on the drawing board... many years ago we fished the Ohio River in flooded conditions and it was a fairly big tournament that did not weigh a single fish.
