Call Justin at RMP can get one on your boat for hundreds less then that

That motor guide you talking about is more comparable to the terrova not the ultrex so it's not apples to apples. I have run the terrova on my last multi species rig and it was meh.... the spot lock on the terrova was very jerky and only worked well in very light to light wind. In moderate to high winds it was useless. Almost tossed me in the water one day, if it was on a bass boat I would have gone in. The question is $1200 for the MG $2000 for terrova or $2700 for ultrex. Only you can answer that question.

IMO Motorguides make great brush pile anchors.

No it does not, it just sets the new heading towards where it is pointed

Get the Ultrex and don't look back. You will not regret it for a single second. All the talk of the new trolling motors that are rumored to be coming out. A lot of companies new to that specific product vs a proven system that is winning every tournament out there. It is everything you can get in a trolling motor in one package.

Weird. If I step on the pedal when in Autopilot, mine will beep and turn off autopilot. Same as if in Spotlock. Maybe I need a firmware update.

Is there a timetable on the Power Pole one? I'm going to be in the market for a new trolling motor by this fall, but can wait til next spring if I will have more options on top of the Ultrex and whatever Motorguide and Lowrance roll out at iCast. I've also heard Garmin is working on one...

Not if you push the “N” button on the pedal, that locks the heading and any adjustments just become the new heading for all minn Kota trolling motors.

I put an Ultrex on my Champion 171 and it is was the best thing I ever did. I have lowrance graphs. Call RMP Russell Marine Products which is what I did. Saved me hundreds of dollars. You will not be sorry.

    Wrong:

    MK Terrova > MG Xi5

No company has a comparable motor to the Ultrex available yet.

If you need one by this fall I'd go ultrex, that's about all I can say for now.

I need one soon. My Maxxum 55lb thrust is okay but not powerful enough and need spot lock.
