Pro XS 175 long shaft, changed to a short shaft

This might sound crazy, but out of curiosity, how much work/trouble/ cost would it be to change from a long shaft to a short shaft?
Found a really good deal on a low hour, 2013 pro xs 175 long shaft, and I’m curious to know what it would cost and how much work it would take to change it to a short shaft to fit on a bass boat.

Long, L, or 20" shaft engine is what most bassboats require.

That is the "shortest" shaft the 175 ProXS was offered in (there was no factory-offering of a "short" or "15 inch" shaft).

What boat, and what's the engine serial number?

Sorry, i should have clarified. A 20" shaft is what it would be changed to.
The boat it would be going on is a 1995 Ranger 482

If buying an engine, buy the CORRECT shaft length. Way less expensive to start with the right engine.
