    Tempest on Yamaha

Haven't had this prop on in a long time. Seems like a lot more threads showing than with my other two props. I put the proper washer on before the prop and seems seated ok. Are the extra threads and issue?

Looks like you are using the thrust washer for a mercury motor. The Yamaha washer is thicker.

I'm sure it's the thrust washer that came with the prop for my Yamaha.

Wouldn't a thicker washer just make the prop seat away form the lower unit creating a gap between the prop and lower unit?

It has a small washer that goes on before the nut, seems like maybe there were two last time I used it. Should run fine this way correct?

You should not be using the thrust washer for a Yamaha propeller. Just trying to help you. There should be a larger space between the propeller and gearcase. You probably already rubbed off your zerk fitting inside the lower unit.

I have this setup and it required the 2 piece Mercruy Flo Torq II Hub kit.

Something along these lines. Your prop is too close to the housing.

Better? Looks like it to me. Found another thrust washer which makes prop set back further. It does not slide down the prop shaft as far where the shaft flares or maybe it does, I assume this is OK. See pics
