Throttle cable replacement for 03 196 Champ?

Does anyone know how to determine the proper length of an existing cable. I saw some info on the Teleflex W/S which indicated there should be a p/n stamped on the cable jacket. If so, I wonder which end I should access to find this p/n? Any additional tips would also be helpful.

Measure from the engine all around the boat to the throttle or the hot foot.

String will do, or tape measure

Are you replacing an existing cable? Installing a hot foot?

There might be writing on the cable sheathing that will tell you length

Just measured mine, get 14 or 15ft it will be plenty long.
