    2001 Mercury 150 XR6 tilt/trim switch on the motor

Can anyone tell me how the tilt/trim switch removes from the engine. I think it needs to be replaced. The switch works going down but not up and the switch is working properly on the engine control handle.

    Thanks,

I would swap the relays in the motor and see if you still are having issues with the switch. Also, I would move this thread to the 2.5 forum. The guys that own an XR6 are on that one, more likely to get help there.

If it was the relay, the switch on the throttle would not be working correctly. It could be the switch or a loose wire. Pull the top bucket cowl off and you'll be able to see your switch. Clean the butt connectors good and see it that fixes the problem. If not, the switch is pretty easy to replace.
