    277 pro

I just picked up a 1999 Sprint 277 tournament pro.. it has a Mercury 115 and sadly it has a bad #3 cylinder.. I may try to have it rebuilt and my mechanic says it would be worth it.. I also have a 1995 Mercury 90hp I thought about putting in it.. if I have the 115 rebuilt what kind of speeds could I expect? Also if I save some money and put the 90 on it what speed might it get or will it be underpowered? Either way the boat has a 6” jack plate installed.. any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

The hp range for the 277 is 115-130. Hull weight is 1150 lbs so she would be under powered with the 90. BUT....you would be on the water until you decide what to do.....These boats are a pleasure to fish from.....
