    Costa at KY Lake

1/3 of the field skunked. The lake has some big fish, but numbers are way off.

Sad to see a fishery as great as this take a big hit.

Weather was perfect today...cloud cover, light breeze, water temp 58.

This comes after a tough bfl where only two limits were caught.

Combination of Asian carp, no grass anymore, bad spawns....

Dang it.... I thought I was just a bad fisherman 😂

Wait for the few on here that say we are all imagining it. Somebody brothers cousin caught 5 for 22lbs, so there is nothing wrong with the lake. Lol. Of course those same guys have never fished Kentucky lake. Lol

Also, about 50 skunks in that tournament.

Very sad situation on the Tennessee river chain. It will bounce back if we stop getting massive flooding so the grass can grow again.

HMMMMM...I was trying to decide on going back and catching some more of those big white bass in the river or heading to KY Lake tomorrow. Guess I'll go chase some more white bass since even I can catch em.

I sold my bass boat last year but am considering buying a jon boat and staying out in the middle of the lake catfishing until the bass return....if I live long enough.

I don't know if the cause of the decline is lack of grass, Asian carp, lots of tournaments or whatever. But this is one thing I know. Fishers, tournament trails and crappie fishermen from these parts aren't making the trip anymore. The word is out.

If ya'll want to meet some nice folks from Kentucky, come up to Lake Erie in about a month. There will be lots of them.

I just fished the bass world sports classic there . We had the same results . Some caught them but a lot didn't. I was in the group that didn't . It seems like south was the place to be in out tournament .

Funny how one of the guides on ky lake zeroed today. He makes a post almost everyday that he caught 19-30lbs with his clients.

There are plenty of big fish left on the lake. It is critically important for the various tournament trails to get to these fish before they can successfully spawn. It's your chance to "cash a check" or even "win a boat" so get to it before some of the fish can reproduce!!

I've been in the camp that defended it more than most, blaming it on pressure and timing and other factors as well as the carp. I do still believe these factors (mainly timing) play a role, but this is sad. Something, most likely the carp, are having a major negative effect on this lake and it's happening quickly.

Have seen the same sad situation locally on the Kaskaskia River. It is just an Asian carp refuge now
