boat registration

OK, so i moved from KY to OH and i am trying to get my trailer registered in OH but they are telling me i need to have it weighed empty. Anyone know any certified scales, located near a water source, in the Cincinnati area? Why they can not go off of the manufacturer sticker on the trailer is beyond me....

Its gotta be on paper, I know , stupid rule but they charge by weight and you could tell them anything without proof. BMV should be able to tell you where to get it weighed. I use the local scrap yard.

I agree, doesn't make sense. Really all they want to know is if you are over a certain weight, which means you pay more for a commercial license. I don't recall the exact weight, but I think it's 4,000 pounds. Most boats should be under that on the trailer, so you can go to any weigh station and get a slip with your boat on the trailer. BMV just needs a copy of the weigh slip.

All you have to do is go to Dixie Marine and they'll take care of it for you!
On RT 4 near Cincinnati! Awesome customer service and great Ranger dealer.
One stop shop! Have all paperwork for boat and trailer!
