There are many options to choose from. I started with createx and have not tried others yet. To make the gill you will need a mix of colors and there are different shades of each you can use. The vague break down of colors for the gill I made is; greens, yellows, light blue, black, white, sienna, and orange.
I did some youtube searching and used different suggestions from each video to make a bluegill color pattern.

if i used createx would you have to thin the paint?
I use it straight out of the bottle with a 035 tip. Never needed to think yet
I have to thin mine and some colors need more than others.

I usually thin my paint to the consistency of skim milk. The thinner the paint, the more transparent the paint. The best part of painting a bluegill is that they all look different. Get the basic characteristics down and you are good. If you need a good tutorial, Lure Me In has a bunch on youtube. I like the looks of this one.
