Hard to believe two killed by same train 12 miles apart.

You think the train swerved to hit them? Sounds to me like 2 different people were trespassing on the tracks

Who else would be at fault besides the pedestrians that got hit? Unless your suggesting that there’s some serial killer out there throwing people in front of trains, I don’t know who else could be at fault here.

I hope these responses answer your question but rest assured there are probably no less than a dozen lawyers contacting the families convincing them it was all the train's fault and for 70% of the settlement the insurance company might pay they'll file a lawsuit.

They might win a big settlement if they get a jury made up of those who have to ask whose fault it was on an internet forum.

Personal responsibility, sometimes we need to chalk up some of these deaths to "maybe a person should know better".

My Dad was a RR engineer. I know that he hit two cars resulting in fatalities. One was a clear suicide, the other I think just trying to beat the train across. Either way, I remember the impact it had on him having been involved. Tragedy all around.

A guy that works for me used to be a conductor. He said that you average killing one person for every eight years you work. That's what the "talk" is among conductors. He said it will happen whether it's a result of someone's suicide, someone walking on tracks with headphones in, car stuck, or one of the train groupies that are standing on the side taking pictures (he said there's a ton of those people throughout the country.) He got his on his eighth year.

My guess is drugs / alcohol will be found to be involved once the investigation is complete.

We should ban all trains. It is clearly the only solution. If they were illegal these 2 would still be alive.

I don't think we need to call in Columbo for this case.

Not sure what happened to my previous response to this. It either got removed or it didn’t go through for some reason. Anyways...

Hoot, you should read my comment again. I’m saying the pedestrians were at fault...
