so I am up in the air on whether to replace bunks entirely or just the carpet when I do this job...previous owner put these plastic/nylon bunk covers over the carpet on the back 1/3 of bunks to cover up worn carpet spots. I am worried that some of the current screw holes will be rotted/stripped if and make it difficult to remove bunks and put back on with new carpet but also don't want to spend the $300 plus dollars on new BCB bunks.

Looks like a real nice rig it would be best to spend the cash and put back to factory specs . Put back together the way it was suppose to be and you shouldn’t have to worry about it .
