    Prop size

I want to get a new propeller
I have a 1994 champion dc 190 with original 2.5 150 hp outboard. I am looking to get on plane quick and get better gas mileage. Not too worried about top speed

23 M Yamaha wheel is your ticket.

It is a mercury motor. Does that matter?
Is that prop made by yamaha or Michigan wheel.

It's sold by Yamaha, actually built by Turbo.
Don't waste your money on anything from michigan.

Cousin of mine had a great little 184 with a 175 merc. He had the 23m and it was perfect for it. I bet Pat has tried several so he would know best! My 193 had a 25m on it when I bought it. It did great on it also. I threw an ear off mine or it would still be on mine!

Your prop is 90% of your performance. Until it's right, nothing else will be.
We tend to want to recommend what we're running as what you should run. That's not always the best advice.
You'll get a lot of recommendations for Tempest and other props that were built to run on 3.0 motors, which for those motors are indeed the right choice, but the 2.5 runs better with a little less aggressive rake and cupping, it's gotta breathe and slip a little more because it doesn't have the grunt the 3.0 has.
That said, there's a few talented prop guys that can take dog meat and turn it into filet Mignon, so something not quite right can usually find redemption.

Gonna have to find somebody that has it in stock. Don't know the demand for the M's but I tried to buy an FXP yesterday for my SHO and BBlades said the estimated date was 31 May. She also said that might be a false date. I guess Yamaha is refitting Turbo's plant as Yamaha owns Turbo now.

Not that I know what any of that means. Just spitting back what I received on the phone.
