I’m down at the lake now. I haven’t been able to get on the water but I think I’ve only seen 2 boats all weekend (21mm). Been raining non stop since yesterday afternoon

I fished 4 days thru Sunday and fish are pretty shallow. Just off bank on first drop. Jerkbait bite is still very good. Also spinnerbait and shakey head green pumpkin with chartruese marked tail worked well. Caught 40 Thursday before front. Fish look good and healthy. Very surprised with the number of 2-4lb fish in this lake. Fishing is excellent right now. Secondary points and sheltered pockets have tons of fish stacking up. I’m going back as soon as I can.

Water temp up by Alhonna was 48 when we got there last Weds....Thursday was warmer and found 54 degree water in fingers all the way back in pockets. By Sunday temp was back down to 46.8 with that cold front. Should be warming back up this week. Should find upper 50’s this weekend. Pockets and creeks have some color and a little trash floating. Lot of rain last weekend. Even so, bite was phenominal given conditions.

Great thanks for the info. Going down Tuesday of next week we do an annual family tournement serious bragging rights for big fish of the week. I am hopeful the jerkbait bite doesn't fade by then but with the warm up who knows.

The fish were cold with red mouths and gullets when boated. They kinda come alive when they get to the surface and near the boat. I lost two massive fish the started the thrash right at the boat when they woke up. Just a heads up.

Anybody get out this weekend? I assume with the warm weather it has the fish getting pretty shallow. Going down Tuesday night for the week and getting pretty pumped other than the cold front coming in on Thursday.

Wondering what water temps are now.

Well we just got back last night and had a great week. After going down in April for 20 years we are really starting to figure it out. Caught big numbers on Spinnerbait, rock crawlers and Carolina rigs. Then finally put it all together on Saturday with a vision 110 and caught a 5.12, a 5.6 and numerous 3’s and 4,s. For the first time in my fishing career I experienced firing up a school. For 20 minutes it was every cast and they kept getting bigger. Water temps fell back to low 50’s on Saturday with morning sun and wind which brought the jerkbaits back in play. Probably the clearest water on the low end we have seen in years. We caught all the big girls on main lake bluff ends off the river channel. Thanks for all the info above.
